If you are interested in hosting a SuperFood Drive in your local community, the steps are very easy. Basically, you will act as the liaison between the people/groups/company donating the nonperishable SuperFood items and the people, groups and organizations receiving the donated nutrient dense foods.

Take a look at the steps below and if you have any questions, feel free to email us for assistance.

  1. Decide who you would like to benefit from the SuperFood Drive. Options include:
    1. Local food bank (SuperFood Drive has a list of food banks in various cities nation-wide with contact numbers. Email us for this information if you would like a place to start. Sorry, we cannot promise contacts in every city).  The benefit of bringing a local food bank on board is that they will provide barrels for food collection and are well-connected with the needier populations within your community.
    2. Non-profit organization in your community
    3. Homeless shelter in your community
    4. Specific community in need
  2. Decide where you would like to conduct the SuperFood Drive. Options include:
    1. Hosting a SuperFood Drive at your work and asking employees/co-workers to bring in non-perishable SuperFood items (to be collected in bins or barrels and provided to the group of choice).
    2. Contacting a local grocery store and asking them to co-host a SuperFood Drive with you. You can use SuperFood Drive fliers and posters to promote the event and educate individuals on what nutritious non-perishables are.  These fliers and educational materials are available in pdf printable version. Ask the store to have a display of example non-perishable SuperFood items near the barrels and to ask the check-out employees to encourage individuals to pick up one extra item to donate to____ (the local group or organization that will be receiving the SuperFoods).
    3. A great idea for a food drive is to request that individuals bring a non-perishable SuperFood item as entrance into an event of your choice. ("If you bring a non-perishable SuperFood item your ticket will be discounted" or "Please bring a non-perishable SuperFood item with you as entrance to ____ event. All proceeds will go to___").
  3. Set a time frame for the SuperFood Drive. If you are requesting SuperFood items as entrance to an event, it would be for one night only. If you are collecting food items at work, you can work with your HR department to identify a week or two that can be set aside for the purpose of first publicizing the events, and then a week or two for the actual food collection.
  4. Provide informational flyers about the mission of SuperFood Drive so individuals can identify with the cause they are donating to.
  5. Please let us know if you will be hosting a SuperFood Drive in your community so we can post all active SuperFood Drives on our calendar

We invite and encourage you to build SuperFood Drives in your own community. Together, we can work together to ensure that all people, regardless of income level, have access to nutrient-dense foods. With your help, we hope to have SuperFood Drives hosted in hundreds of communities throughout the United States, leaving a food imprint that will not go unnoticed and is a reflection of the care and concern for the hungry and the needy nation-wide.
